Chakra Yoga Teachers Training
A unique systematic way to study the Science behind classical yoga that spans way beyond the physical asana practice known as modern yoga today. This course is designed for anyone that feels a lack in their yoga practice, where no area is more important than the other, and aspects of spirituality & personal development blossom within the mind-body-spirit triangle.
The Basics of the Chakra Yoga System:
1. Muladhara Chakra:
Earthing- We begin our yogic journey by building a steady foundation, physically grounding ourselves & connecting to the roots of Mother Earth. Establish our place in our bodies and the material world in which we live through practicing Hatha Yoga Asanas, getting us out of our heads & into our bodies, including yoga body building (dandhalls)
2. Swadhistana Chakra:
Flowing-connecting to our sacred feminine & sexuality, the element of water & the moon. Delve into our menstrual cycles & finding awareness in our natural flows. Practice Jnana Yoga- the yoga of self equiry and knowledge: know thyself.
3. Manipura Chakra:
Blazing- The centre of our power. we dive into the masculine energy of the sun, turn up the heat, take a look at our digestion & consciously connect with our food. Practice associated with the 3rd chakra: Pranayama Yoga- The control of energy within the body and the nervous system.
4. Anahata Chakra:
Air- Connecting to the centre of our being through our heart centre. Learning to choose love vs fear, finding joy through compassion for all beings. We learn about how healing works, and practices to create ease within the body- mind and soul. with a by produc of health. Practice for the 4th chakra is dominantly Karma Yoga: what are our sanskaras and how can we clear them?
5. Vishuddha Chakra:
Ether-, we sing around the fire with drums, learn mantras accompanied by Sim's harmonium, including the seed & petal sounds for each Chakra, blasting away limiting beliefs & thoughts, to decipher our highest truth & live in accordance to our highest purpose. Practice Raja Yoga- Royal Yoga. We learn about affirmations, the voice and of course, communication as a yoga teacher.
6. Ajna Chakra:
Magnet- we seek balance through self- analysis (swadiyaya) using the 4 directions of our minds. We learn meditation concentration techniques. The 6th chakra Practice is that of Yantra Yoga (Yoga of sacred Geometry) We gain a deep understanding on the spiritual journey we have just been through. We learn what our main life path energy is, and how that correlates into the cycles of years, months, and days, to better understand ourselves and those around us.
7. Sarasrara:
Consciousness itself. we gaze at the different chakra's pure mandala form to strengthen the mind's eye, and even draw them out. We go deeper into aspects of walking the spiritual path. The practice of the 7th chakra is that of Mantra Yoga - using sound as a deeply healing tool to take us beyond our own limiting beliefs, into places where conscoiusness is.

Lead Yoga Teacher, Simone Mary (Simmi Fink), E-RYT500 registered with Yoga Alliance, has immersed herself in the practice of Yoga since completing her 500-hour Chakra Yoga TTC in Thailand, which included a month-long focus on yoga therapy for healing. This experience marked her first spiritual awakening, propelling her into the journey of building the gorgeous glass walled yoga shala within Mantis and Moon Backpacker's in the fresh-aired town of Umzumbe, South Coast.
Simmi has hosted and collaborated on 20+ retreats, learning from many renowned figures in the international and South African yoga industry. Her continuous pursuit of knowledge led her to train in Preggy Yoga, HypnoBirthing (which she now teaches under the name My Birthing Kit), two Aerial Yoga TTCs, Kids Yoga, Energy Healing, WOMBS Doula training, and participation in various detox and yoga retreats. Her most recent achievement is completing the 13-month Red Tent Womb Wisdom training, where living in alignment with her cycle has profoundly influenced her practice.
In addition to her yoga journey, Simmi's love for movement has seen her training intensively with the Durban-based Break-Thru Dance company, where she dedicated over 5 hours a day for three months. She also achieved recognition by winning the Best Physique award in Lisa Raleigh's fitness challenges, which she participated in for over six months.
Simmi channels her fiery energy into maintaining her physical strength through various avenues, including yoga, gymnastics, dancing, aerial yoga, swimming, and gym workouts. She nurtures her spiritual growth by attending weekly meditation and healing circles with her guides (Swamis) and is a certified registered healer and member of the spiritual church. "I am eternally grateful to have stumbled onto this path, to have received the gifts of this magical lineage passed down from teacher to teacher, and to have the opportunity to share this magic with others," says Shani.
Claudia Da Cunha has undergone a remarkable transformation, deepening her love for music and dedication to Chakra Yoga. Hosting retreats and gatherings in Hogsback at the beautiful Heart Centre, Claudia will join us on our journey together diving into the scientific world of Chakra Yoga.

The Chakra Yoga System was passed down from "the sleepless saint" of Paramahansa Yogananda's book, 'Autobiography of a yogi" to one of his students, Indian born Swami Gitananda Giri, who practiced as a medical doctor between England, USA and Canada for 38 years. He then opened an Ashram in India, which still runs today.
David Goulet was one of Gitananda's students, where he studied in India for 2 years in 1971. 50 years later, David has immersed himself fully into the depths of yoga we only wish we understood. He has been teaching TTCs for 38 years now, and now resides at his Yoga Centre in Koh Phangan, Thailand. See his website for more of what we will tap into on this training
